Tim has over 25 years of consulting experience. Since joining McKinsey in 2004, his work has spanned a wide range of topics for governments, health plans, healthcare providers, higher-education institutions, and not-for-profit organizations.

Tim leads the firm’s global public sector practice, partnering with government leaders to turn their most important priorities into reality.

Examples of his recent work include the following:

  • identifying and delivering productivity improvements across government operations
  • leading major transformation programs on topics such as operational performance improvement, program delivery, organizational change, and capital planning
  • designing and delivering transformative change programs for higher-education institutions and not-for-profit organizations

Tim served as the managing partner of the firm’s Southern California office for five years. He is a member of the board of the Colburn School, a trustee of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles, and serves on the executive committee of the CEO Leadership Alliance of Orange County.

Tim has lived and worked in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Sweden. He holds an M.A. in philosophy, politics, and economics from University College, Oxford, where he was awarded the university’s Hicks and Webb-Medley Prize in economics.
