Sandra is a leader in our People & Organizational Performance Practice in Europe, focused on achieving lasting organizational performance improvement by transforming talent, leadership, and culture. She leads McKinsey’s talent work within the People & Organizational Performance Practice, as well as the firm’s thinking on agentic organization and the future of work.
Since joining McKinsey in 2008, Sandra has helped organizations guide complex, cross-industry transformations—from operating model redesigns and people strategies in digital transformations to HR modernization and leadership capability building. She brings together the “hardware” of performance and strategy with the “software” of mindsets and behaviors, ensuring transformations are both high-impact and sustainable.
Drawing on an educational background in psychology, Sandra inspires leaders and teams through journeys that translate strategy into day-to-day leadership and collaboration. She champions the future of work and people management, convening HR and business leaders to reimagine how organizations thrive in a fast-changing world.
Examples of her recent client work include the following:
- leading an enterprise-wide operating model transformation in life sciences, changing ways of working for 100,000 employees and 10,000 leaders by implementing a new operating system
- directing a corporate transformation in the chemicals sector, including the redesign of all functional support organizations, identification of M&A options and organic growth levers (e.g., digital use cases), and revision of business unit strategy and structure
- redesigning organizations for the future of work, workforce, and workplace across B2B and B2C industries
- developing and implementing people strategies, supporting the execution of talent levers to drive organizational health and HR transformations across various organizations in airlines, automotive, construction, consumer, energy, logistics, pharma, and technology sectors; this included enhancing efficiency, effectiveness, and employee experience through initiatives from strategic workforce planning to leadership and upskilling programs
Sandra is also a keynote speaker, convener of the HR leadership community, and a thought leader on the future of work, future of people management, and future of HR.
Before joining McKinsey, Sandra worked in marketing analytics in the United States for five years. She is an accredited facilitator, fluent in German and English, and proficient in French and Dutch.
