Fabian Metzeler is a partner in McKinsey's Düsseldorf office who leads work on how companies become AI-native. A member of the Tech & AI and Business Building practices, he builds the AI operating system beneath the model — the agentic capabilities, talent, and operating routines that move AI from isolated pilots to the core of how a business runs.
He works on these foundations from both sides. With clients, he builds the platforms and operating models companies need to run on AI. Within McKinsey, he helps shape how the firm itself builds and operates AI at scale.
His perspective comes from more than a decade across product, technology, and transformation — as a founder and operator who built and scaled technology businesses in energy, industrials, telco, and materials.
