Drew leads McKinsey’s Social, Healthcare and Public Sector Entities Practice globally, advising boards and executive teams of many of the largest and leading health systems, insurers, and healthcare services companies on strategic growth, M&A, transformation, and restructuring. Drew is also a global co-leader of the McKinsey Health Institute, a non-profit generating entity within the firm. MHI was founded on the conviction that, over the next decade, humanity could add as much as 45 billion extra years to higher-quality life (six years per person on average).

Over the past three decades, Drew has driven transformations at many of the world’s largest public and non-profit healthcare enterprises and achieved step-change impact, preparing those organizations for long-term growth and outsized community benefit. He is a trusted counselor to CEOs and boards of many of the most prestigious health care organizations in the world and convenes several of the industry’s leading roundtables.

Prior to leading McKinsey’s Social, Healthcare and Public Sector Entities Practice, he led McKinsey’s Healthcare Practice globally and chaired the firm’s global development council for McKinsey’s nearly 40,000 colleagues.

Drew started his career as a financial analyst at Goldman Sachs, focusing on M&A in healthcare.

Drew was elected presidential scholar and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University and earned his MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
