Diego is a partner in McKinsey’s Geneva office and leads the Global Energy Perspective, the firm’s research on the evolution of the global energy system. He also coleads McKinsey’s work on green energy transformation, helping energy consumers and utilities develop strategies that balance cost, sustainability, and resilience.
Diego advises leading energy companies, utilities, industrial players, and investors on some of their most consequential strategic choices, from portfolio strategy and M&A to renewable energy and new-business building. His work spans Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
Diego’s recent client work includes:

leading M&A strategy and due diligence for private-capital and corporate clients across the energy sector, including data center infrastructure and advanced building technologies

leading green power procurement and decarbonization strategies across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions for clients across industries and private-capital portfolios
building power-market models and advanced-analytics solutions to inform strategic decisions and improve asset performance
Before joining McKinsey, Diego spent four years with an international banking group as an equity research associate. He speaks Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, and German.
