Leads businesses in driving large-scale performance transformations by leveraging cutting-edge technology, AI, advanced operations, and enterprise capability development

Dan is a senior partner based in McKinsey’s Connecticut office and the global leader of McKinsey’s Tech & AI Practice. He helps executives translate AI ambition into measurable productivity impact. Dan works with leading organizations to drive holistic transformations that reshape their trajectory and integrate cutting-edge technology with core business capabilities to deliver efficiency, resilience, and collaboration for both the organization and its people. This includes embedding tech and AI into a wide range of manufacturing (e.g., consumer packaged goods, industrial) and service (e.g., retail, rental) companies. Central to his approach is guiding leaders to balance immediate performance pressures with longer-term transformation, ensuring advancements in AI deliver both near-term results and sustained competitive advantage. As leader of the Tech & AI Practice at McKinsey, he dedicates himself to creating the most supportive and inspiring environment for our people. He previously led operations work globally and leads the firm’s thinking on operations collaboration.

Over his career, Dan has helped global consumer and retail companies achieve significant improvements in supply chain performance. His recent work includes supporting a leading food manufacturer in the design and implementation of an end-to-end transformation program across multiple business units and regions. The effort spanned direct and indirect procurement, manufacturing performance, and supply chain responsiveness—from network design to planning and inventory management—and delivered more than $500 million in impact.

Examples of his recent client work include the following:

  • assisting a consumer packaged goods manufacturer with developing a supply chain transformation strategy and priority workstreams to target a more than $2 billion increase in margin over five years
  • helping a $3 billion food manufacturer undertake an end-to-end supply chain performance transformation program to achieve a more than $200 million improvement
  • working with a leading food manufacturer to accelerate performance transformation, resulting in a significant increase in margin
  • helping an industrial manufacturing company to drive a commercial transformation across its three business units, leading to meaningful sales and pricing performance
  • driving a fundamental turnaround of an inbound supply chain to the biggest plant at a heavy equipment manufacturer, leading to an increase in machine availability and output
  • working to drive a fundamental performance transformation for a consumer packaged goods manufacturer across the enterprise to deliver 400-plus basis points of bottom-line margin performance.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Dan worked with the supply chain operation at a global consumer packaged goods company.
