You will be based in our Brussels or Munich office as part of Hydrogen Insights.
McKinsey has positioned itself as the preeminent strategy consultancy on hydrogen. We are working with our clients and in cooperation with leading institutions such as the Hydrogen Council, the IEA and the WEF on the development of the hydrogen ecosystem, have developed a rich set of proprietary insights and knowledge, and published a series of cutting-edge research and analysis.
Hydrogen Insights is our center that institutionalizes and advances McKinsey’s vast and deep knowledge on hydrogen. We are a young, dynamic and global team that works directly with clients and with our consultants around the world to solve the most challenging questions on hydrogen. We work, for example, with alliances to advance hydrogen ecosystems, energy companies to build hydrogen businesses and public institutions to lead the fight against climate change.

Deine Aufgaben

You will help grow the firm’s capacity to deliver client impact through preeminent, scalable assets and distinctive knowledge/capabilities in the hydrogen space.
In this role, you will split your time developing, tech-enabling and managing proprietary Hydrogen Insights assets and supporting clients and engagement teams with your asset-backed expertise – applying your work in client setting. You will become a highly sought-after expert in hydrogen discussions and can live your passion for entrepreneurship, leadership and sustainability. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy and get responsibility to work closely with leading thinkers on hydrogen including internal McKinsey colleagues as well as external clients.
This is a highly entrepreneurial role with significant space for initiative taking and personal growth. You’ll have the opportunity to gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the firm. You will receive exceptional training as well as frequent coaching and mentoring. 
There is flexibility to hire at different levels, depending on candidate experience. 

Dein Profil

  • Graduate or post-graduate degree in management, engineering, economics, energy, chemistry or any other quantitative focused discipline from a top tier university
  • 1+ years of professional experience
  • Background or proven passion in hydrogen, sustainability and clean-energy transition (e.g., through degrees, courses, internships or work experience)
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills 
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; basic Alteryx and Tableau experience desired
  • Demonstrated success as a collaborative team player who is capable of working with others, but also autonomously with little direction
  • Strong personal drive and motivation as well as a hands-on, action-oriented style
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a complex and dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in English
  • Flexibility to travel
