The McKinsey Center for Future Mobility is our firm’s think tank developing new perspectives and counseling clients on trends in shared mobility, electrification, autonomous vehicles, and consumer sentiment. Thus, we are at the forefront of the sustainable mobility transition and help business leaders and policymakers solve the world’s mobility problems for society, industries, and individuals. 
You will be based in our Munich office in Germany as part of the international McKinsey Center for Future Mobility Solution with approximately 40 colleagues worldwide. You will work closely with a global network of experts to support strategic decision-making for our clients, offering deep-dive perspectives on energy demand, charging infrastructure, and value pools across scenarios and geographies.  
As a Mobility Analyst within the McKinsey Center for Future Mobility's Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (electric vehicle charging infrastructure) team, you will be at the forefront of analyzing and strategizing the deployment and optimization of electric vehicles charging infrastructure. Your portfolio of topics will cut across the entire value chain, from hardware manufacturers to service providers, charge point operators (CPOs), and software companies to investors looking to efficiently deploy capital. 
You will join a growing, entrepreneurial team focused on developing distinctive insights and intelligence tools and deploying them to McKinsey’s mobility clients (e.g., micro mobility players, charging operators, automotive industry). 
You will bring a passion for mobility and sustainability to help develop and deploy cutting-edge capabilities and market projections to support our clients. Ideally, you will also bring automotive or mobility expertise and analytical skills to bear. We expect you to develop industry-leading expertise in the above-mentioned McKinsey Center for Future Mobility knowledge domain and to participate in further building our mobility insights and tools. Python coding skills would be a great addition to manage and visualize our mobility data insights and guide our developer team in building and improving our mobility tools.

Deine Qualifikationen und Stärken

  • Master’s degree in either business, business informatics, economics or STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics),
  • Initial professional experience from consultancy/ automotive industry (internships or full-time), 
  • Understanding of the electric vehicles charging ecosystem is a strong plus, 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills,
  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills are a minimum requirement, preferably with Python coding proficiency and data visualization (i.e. Tableau, PowerBI), 
  • Adept at managing key stakeholders (internal & external), confidence/ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, oftentimes ambiguous environment with senior stakeholders 
  • Strong process management skills, autonomously coordinating multiple workstreams in parallel and with foresight 
  • Fluent English communication skills, both verbal and written; German a strong plus
