Manager Office Technology Experience (m/f/d)

As a Manager of Office Technology Experience, you will establish yourself as a technology ambassador, advocate and a business partner.  Your primary focus will be to build strong and productive relationships to connect our offices with the wider Technology & Digital (T&D) organisation, to adopt Firm technology and enable personalized and office tailored business impact.  In addition you will provide day-to-day account management for the technology needs of our offices and focus on coaching and development of Office Technology teams.

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You will be part of the Office Technology Experience (OTE) team. The OTE team leverages our on-site presence and cultural understanding to deliver great, consistent technology experiences and connect T&D with the Office community.

We provide the last mile of adoption and services that require a deeper level of personalized engagement. OTE is embedded in the office to allow for a deeper level of relationship with people, creating insights through face-to-face interactions. We also deliver & manage in-office technology experiences - meeting rooms, IT bar, modernized spaces, connectivity, innovative use of technology etc. We share feedback to Technology & Digital teams (Tribes, Service teams) and facilitate testing technology concepts at the coal face. We provide advice, coaching & problem-solving on how to use technology through learning and sharing colleagues experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You will be responsible for providing these services to our German office, so will work closely with the German office leadership including Senior Partners, Department Managers and other OTE team members.

In addition you will leverage your connections with the wider global Technology & Digital organisation to deliver the services to the German office.

You will build greater technology satisfaction within the office leadership and colleagues through clarity of communications, collaboration, and problem solving abilities.

You will work closely with McKinsey’s global technology & digital organization to understand technology standards and policies and ensure that similar standards of conduct, response times, resolution and planning requirements are established in each office. Ensure the in office technology and services that are being delivered in local region align with global expectations and service delivery model.

You will act as a point of escalation for all technology issues that cannot be handled by a Technology professional or require orchestration across multiple disciplines. Demonstrate sound judgment, use resources wisely, and know when and how to effectively work with others to seek the best solution. 

You will engage with different business units to develop a deep understanding of how they use technology, and present technology solutions that could enhance their productivity. Be a bridge communicating to office stakeholders details of the project status and also providing feedback from the offices to drive experiences – physical or product – forward.

You will coach, grow, and maintain a highly motivated Solutions and Technology Advisory Team. Develop or engage training resources to improve the Team capabilities. Fully engage team members in goal planning every year to help build on individuals strength.  Evaluate performance quarterly leveraging the McKinsey evaluation process. Ensure that team members are the correct fit for the team.

You will create quarterly outcomes for the team that encompass the office leadership's long term technology outlook. You will gather information, analyze data, observe the process and constantly improve the technology service delivery process. This includes challenging conventional thinking including how the group collaborates, implementation, migration and any other IT process or procedure.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Tech background is required (Technology services and IT Operations, Client Tech services, Engagement Management)

  • A minimum of 5 years of People Management experience (including Team’s coaching, mentoring and development)
  • Customer engagement experience required, including the ability of managing and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Strong personal presence and credibility. Ability to work across all levels of seniority. Positive, diplomatic, with sound judgment, good instincts and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding English- and German-language oral communication and listening skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity in a work setting, knowing how to address and manage unpredictable outcomes
  • Proven strong analytical, problem-solving skills, working on complex, sensitive, time-critical, sometimes unfamiliar issues
