Manufacturing and Industry
Fabian Fürst
(Munich / Zurich, 2020-24)

Flexa aims to deliver energy cost savings while supporting the transition to a 100% renewable electricity future by using Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), a network of small energy-producing power resources grouped together to serve the electricity grid. The company has contracted nearly 100,000 households in Germany and has set its sights on becoming one of the largest residential virtual power plants in continental Europe.
“We are scaling rapidly right now to steer the 100k contracted households as soon as possible,” Fabian says. “In achieving this, we will have built the largest virtual power plant as far as the number of actively steered assets in the world (as far as I am aware today). However, the bigger goal is to fully unlock the value of decentral flexibility everywhere (not only in Germany, not only for residential) to enable grids to accelerate the integration of more renewable energy sources.”
Media and Marketing
Tobias Hoss
(Frankfurt, 2019-22)

Lunar X's motto is "Elevating content, enabling creators." Investing in digital-first content brands, the company aims to elevate them into globally loved franchises. Boasting 108 million subscribers, Lunar X equips creators with capital, tools, and operational and strategic support. Tobias has scaled the operations arm to profitability, managing a portfolio that has reached more than 110 million YouTube subscribers and more than 40 billion lifetime views.
“Being named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list is a humbling milestone,” says Tobias. “It’s more than recognition; it’s a platform to amplify a vision for a creator-led media future that’s sustainable and purpose-driven. It connects me with trailblazers across industries and unlocks partnerships that can accelerate what we’re building at Lunar X. Above all, it reinforces that purposeful content can shape both culture and the legacy of media.”
Looking ahead, Tobias says that his vision for Lunar X is to pioneer a new era of digital media that prioritizes positive-impact, community-driven content over short-term engagement.
And he credits McKinsey for building his skills: “My time at the Firm shaped my entrepreneurial mindset, sharpened my analytical thinking, and instilled a drive to challenge the status quo – skills I now apply to leading Lunar X’s global operations and driving strategic value creation.”
